Settling In

Well, we have finally settled in, I think. For one, Rachel's car FINALLY got fixed. The brakes actually behave quite well now, even better than before. Nextly, camp is going pretty awesome. They've asked me to take on an additional responsibility, which I think it pretty cool even though it does mean slightly more work for me. The people are great, and I've made some friends both in my condo complex as well as at camp. Save for tubing yesterday, the activities are fun so I'm not really complaining.

I am complaining cuz I'm super tired, though. So I'll be off to bed.

Downtown Boone

I am sitting in a parking lot, outside of a store that sells dildos. And videos. And does body piercing. And might cell CD's. It's kinda like Newbury Comics with porn thrown in.

What a Welcome

Well this has been quite the adventure. Let me summarize my main points:

  • people are nice (not like Boston)
  • car people are idiots (just like Boston)

I guess I'll start with the first point, move on to the second, and come back around to the first...

Scranton... what a town. Not really.

Well, I'm officially "in between homes." I am currently utilizing the free wireless available at my Hampton Inn hotel room somewhere off of 81 South in Scranton, PA.

It's 530 Somewhere.. but not here!

Well, I guess that title is somewhat misleading, since I am here for two more days. However, as of Friday we will no longer be tenants at 530 Columbus. Rachel and I are quite excited to be moving to our new home in Seven Devils, NC (don't be surprised if that's a Drupal site in 3 months). We currently have pictures, but they're blurry and all "camera-phony" so I suggest you keep up with the blog so that you know when the new (good) pictures have arrived. We'll be living on a ski mountain so those of you that ski will have to come visit. Rachel and I will be learning ourselves. Also, come visit if you don't ski -- no one says we have to go to the mountain, and they have tubing, too.

I'm Embarassed to live in this City

I can't believe this. I'm embarrassed that my town, my city, and the governor who had my support, were SO STUPID that they were DETONATING LITE-BRITEs all over the city today. How stupid must all these people be to not recongnize Ignignot? Of course they had to arrest someone so they couldn't do the stand-up thing and admit that they were thoroughly paranoid and, of course as I've mentioned, completely stupid. I think these people need to observe the digital nards.

To these people, and I hope the poor guy who got arrested for this will join me in saying...

Welcome to my secret lair on Skullcrusher Mountain

Part of my duty to the world is to make sure I spread the word about new music.  Thanks to John Hughes, I've recently been able to find some pretty good bands to listen to.  But, every once and a while, you really discover someone who rises above and beyond "pretty good" or "I like it."  Right now, that's Jonathan Coulton.  Some time ago, an article appeared on Slashdot ("news for nerds") for one of JoCo's songs, "Code Monkey."

Dave Dill Site

I decided, as I sometimes do, to check in on the Dave Dill web site and see how he was coming along.  It's been a while since I got to play with him (let's face it -- it's been a long time since I've got to play!), and have been thinking about it a lot since I knew he was working on a new album.  But, one thing I did discover on his site (other than that he has a new episode of his podcast), is:"Also, listen for dave dill tunes as background music to your favorite mtv and vh1 shows. I'd list them, but it's more fun when they creep up on you all unexpected and stuff."

New Site Launched!

I'm more than excited to finally say that the new Drupal site has launched.  The embedded Gallery is awesome.  I'll be working on more photos and small site tweaks in the upcoming weeks.  Don't forget to register for your account.  For members of my family, the gift registry will be available soon.  I promise!

Gettin' there!

I've been trying here and there to do little bits of work at a time on the new look for the web site, and I think I'm finally getting there! Pretty soon the site will actually go live and I can get rid of the plain and totally non-Drupal'd (what was I thinking?! ) site. I've also gotta coerce Rachel into getting some content up, and I've gotta put her in charge of the photo galleries! Wish me luck boys and girls, and stay tuned for further updates...
